Cloud migration

Assessment, landing zones and staged migration of workloads to cloud, with a tested rollback path at every step.

The challenge

Cloud migration is often sold as a lift of servers from one place to another. In practice it changes how an organisation secures, pays for and operates its technology, and moving without a plan simply relocates existing problems at higher cost.

Institutions also carry constraints that generic migration playbooks ignore: data residency rules, regulator notification requirements, legacy applications with no vendor support, and services that cannot tolerate an unplanned outage.

We migrate in deliberate waves, starting from a secure landing zone and a clear decision for every workload on whether to rehost, replatform, refactor, retain or retire it.

Our method

How the work is done.

  1. 01

    Discovery and assessment

Inventory applications, dependencies, data classifications and performance baselines, and assign a migration strategy to each workload.

  2. 02

    Business case and wave plan

Group workloads into migration waves by dependency and risk, with cost projections and regulatory considerations for each.

  3. 03

    Landing zone

Build the account structure, network, identity, logging, guardrails and security baseline as infrastructure as code before any workload moves.

  4. 04

    Wave execution

Migrate each wave with rehearsals, data validation, cut-over runbooks and a tested rollback plan.

  5. 05

    Optimise and hand over

Right-size resources, tune performance, and hand over runbooks and dashboards to the operating team.

Deliverables

What you receive.

  • Application and dependency inventory with migration strategy per workload
  • Migration business case and wave plan
  • Landing zone defined as infrastructure as code
  • Security baseline and guardrail policies
  • Cut-over and rollback runbooks for each wave
  • Data validation and reconciliation reports
  • Post-migration cost and performance review

Questions

What buyers ask us.

Do we have to move everything?

No. Some workloads are better retained, replaced with software as a service or retired. The assessment makes that decision explicitly for each one.

How do you avoid downtime?

Through rehearsed cut-overs, data replication ahead of switching, scheduled windows agreed with service owners and a tested rollback path.

Can data stay in-country?

Yes. Region selection and residency controls are part of the landing zone design, and they are enforced by policy rather than convention.

Which cloud provider should we choose?

We assess providers against your residency, service, skills and commercial requirements and record the reasoning. We do not resell cloud capacity.

Will cloud cost more than our data centre?

It can if workloads are moved unchanged and left unmanaged. The business case models this honestly, and right-sizing is built into each wave.
